Fatehabad, May 28 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided not to allow the cable TV and Internet network operators to lay their cables on its electricity poles.

The Nigam has so far been allowing the cable operators use its poles by charging a certain amount of annual rent.

A DHBVN spokesman said these cables were an obstacle for the Nigam staff climbing on the poles for repair work and sometime caused electrical accidents to the staff due to leakage.

The cables also hampered the installation of energy meters being installed on poles and also gave an ugly look to the electrical network, he said.

He said that DHBVN would not allow laying of these cables for TV and Internet network on Nigam's poles in future and the balance amount of the cable operators who had already deposited the rent for 2007-08 would be returned after serving a 15-day notice for removing the cables from the poles.
