Dera issues signed apology
Sirsa, May 28 (UNI) In a fresh attempt to assuage hurt Sikh sentiments, the Dera Sacha Sauda today issued a signed apology for the alleged blasphemous act of its chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
The move comes a day after the Dera issued an unsigned statement seeking apology from Guru Gobind Singh for the alleged act of its chief dressing up like the tenth Sikh guru.
The apology, signed by Dera management committee vice-president Abhijeet Bhagat, was issued by the Dera on the eve of a crucial meeting of the Sikh clergy in Amritsar to formulate its approach on the issue.
The reissued apology has reportedly been faxed to the Akal Takht which has convened the meeting of the five Sikh high priests tomorrow to discuss the issue.
