BJP pays floral tributes to Savarkar

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today paid floral tributes to the portrait of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on the occasion of his 124th birth anniversary.

The BJP members, led by leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani, paid the tributes at the portrait of the leader in the Central Hall of Parliament here.

The other dignitaries who joined Mr Advani were leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh, Dr Satyanarayan Jatiya, Mr Ashok Argal, Mr Sharad Anantrao Joshi, Mr S S Ahluwalia, Prof Rasa Singh Rawat, Mr Kiren Riju and Ms Najma A Heptullah.

The portrait of late Savarkar was unveiled during the NDA regime by President A P J Abdul Kalam on February 26, 2003.
