BJP 'gods' should apologise: Cong

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) The Congress today said the BJP leaders, who have been potrayed as gods in a party poster, should apologise to the nation for hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.

''Action should also be taken against them under the law,'' Congress spokesperson Satyavrat Chaturvedi told reporters here.

A BJP poster released recently depicts Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje as Goddess Annapoorna and senior leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani and Rajnath Singh as Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. There was also a prayer book dedicated to Ms Raje.

Hitting out at the BJP, Mr Chatuvedi said the party which talked of championing the cause of Hindus was hurting the sentiments of the very same community.

''Their masks have fallen and their real faces exposed,'' he said.
