Armed clash between supporters of UP minister and BSP MLA

Hardoi, May 28 (UNI) At least one person was wounded in an armed clash between the supporters of an Uttar Pradesh minister and a BSP legislator at Pratapnagar crossing in Beniganj area here today.

According to police, the clash took place over extortion, at the Beniganj bus terminal, between the supporters of Minister of State for Land Reclamation Rampal Verma and BSP MLA from Ahirauri assembly segment Virendra Verma.

The clash, which lasted for about half an hour, caused panic in the area and led to closure of markets and business establishments.

Later, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
