48 people suffer from Diarrhoea due to contaminated water

Gulbarga, May 28 (UNI) As many as 48 people took ill after drinking contaminated water from an abandoned open well at Madabul Village in Shahapur Taluk in Gulbarga District of Karnataka.

District Health Officer Dr Nalini Namoshi told UNI that since there was no power supply in the village for the last two days, the villagers did not get water from public taps. Yesterday they had drawn water from a nearby abandoned open well, which was being used for washing cloths and cattle and consumed it. Immediately they developed vomiting and diarrhoea, she added.

They were admitted in various private hospital.

A team of Doctors has been rushed to the village to treat the victims.
