17 people killed in a road mishap

Udupi, May 28 (UNI) Atleast 17 people were killed and 25 others injured, when a Maxi Cab in which they were traveling, collided with a Bus on the National Highway at Muloor, about 20 km from here today.

Police said that the victims belonged to a marriage party and were bound for Muloor, while the bus was coming to Mangalore in the opposite direction when the mishap occurred.

All the injured have been admitted hi-tech hospital in the city.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem at Government Hospital.
