Youth dies after falling from giant wheel

Jamshedpur, May 27 (UNI) A youth died on the spot after falling from a giant wheel at a fair at Sakchi here today.

Police said the youth, identified as Santosh Kumar Gupta (23), went to enjoy the ride with his friends but slipped from the top and died on the spot. A diary was recovered from his pocket.

Police suspected the deceased might be drunk and jumped from the giant wheel.

The owner of the ride and the operator were said to have absconded soon after the mishap, police said, adding that the body was sent for post-mortem.
