Top hizb cdr arrested in Doda

Jammu, May 27 (UNI) Security forces today apprehended a top Hijbul Mujahideen(HM) militant commander at Kishtwar bus stand in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Hizb's self-styled 'company commander' Nafiz Manawar Ahangar alias Irfan, resident of Sujna Palmar in Kishtwar,arrested from a remote area this morning, SSP Doda Manohar Singh told UNI.

During preliminary questioning, Irfan, who has been active in Doda since 2004, confessed to his involvement in several grenade attacks in district, he said.

The militant was also involved in the killing of police constable Shanti Swaroop at Dachhan area of Doda, Mr singh informed.

"Arms recovery and more sensational disclosure are expected from his further questioning," the SSP added.
