Tension grips after student's murder

Jaunpur, May 27 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Jeerikpur village of the district after a youth was shot dead in broad day light today.

Ramesh Yadav (25), a BEd student, had an altercation with some youths over eve teasing a couple of days back.

The dispute snowballed into the henious crime, police said.

Demanding the arrest of the culprits, the locals have demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the deceased's family.

A large number of police personnel and PAC had been deployed to avoid any fresh violence.

A manhunt to nab the accuseds was on.
