Temp drivers take to road roko

Puducherry, May 27 (UNI) Road traffic was affected for about an hour before the new bus stand as three-wheeler passenger tempo drivers resorted to a road blockade today.

The agitation was to protest against the inauguration of a stand for battery-operated three-wheeler Bijlee vehicles by CPI State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan, MLA, today.

The tempo drivers claimed the Bijlees had no permit to ply in the town limit and their operation would affect the tempos.

Police intervened and pacified them.
