'Tantrik' arrested for rape

Bhopal, May 27 (UNI) A 'tantrik' was today arrested for allegedly raping a woman in the name of providing treatment to her, police said.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Old City) Deepak Verma said Dhamnia village-resident Narayan Singh (55) had sexually assaulted the woman, a resident of Chadhar village.

The victim's husband had approached the 'tantrik' so that her alcohal-drinking habit can be removed. The tantrik called the woman for treatment last night and raped her.

The woman informed about the incident to her relatives this morning following which a complaint was lodged.
