Scores wounded as NC, PDP workers clash in Kashmir
Srinagar, May 27 (UNI) Dozens of National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) activists were wounded in a clash over a school in Pulwama district of south Kashmir today.
Police said the clashes between the two groups erupted at Goosu, about 12 km from Pulwama town, last night over the construction of the school building.
They said the clashes resumed this morning as the two groups pelted stones at each other and exchanged blows.
Several activists of the two parties were wounded in the clashes.
Police said the clash over the construction of the school building had first erupted about eight months ago.
Police said they have made several arrests in this regard. The situation flared up last evening after one group laid the foundation of the school building the situation was tense, but under control.
