Robbery gang's kingpin held

Hardoi, May 27 (UNI) Police this morning arrested the kingpin of a notorious loot gang here.

Some members of the infamous gang intercepted a jeep near Sikrohri village. However, after discovering it to be a police vehicle, the miscreants opened fire.

While kingpin Gurmeet Singh was nabbed, his associates identified as Satvinder, Soni, Surjeet and Pamma Singh managed to escape.

On interrogation, the accused confessed his hand behind robbery in Central Bank of Sikandarpur village a fortnight back.

Besides, Rs 12,000 and cell phone were recovered from the spot.

A search is on to nab them.
