Ranga Rao Land Committee report released
Hyderabad, May 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao today released the 'K Ranga Rao Land Committee report,' constituted by the government to study land-related problems and encroachement of assigned lands in the state.
The revenue department would take a decision on the implementation of the recommendations of the commitee after studying the report, he said after releasing the report.
The government would also organise a workshop on June 12 to discuss the recommendations with all political parties. A final decision on the implementation of the recommendations would be taken with the consent of all parties, he said adding the report of the committee would be available at the office of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA).
Stating that the government had completed enumeration of 47 lakh acres of land of which 3.57 lakh acres of assigned lands were encroached, the minister said notices have been issued to 1.69 lakh individuals, who occupied 2.38 lakh acres of assigned lands.
More than 18,700 cases were disposed of and 26,000 acres of land was retrieved from them, he said adding 1,438 people have voluntarily surrendered 3,790 acres of land.
