Rain, mild snowfall in Himachal

Shimla, May 27 (UNI) Thunder showers lashed a number of places in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours while the higher reaches in the tribal belt had the first snowfall of the season.

The higher reaches of the state in the tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur experienced mild snowfall last night.

Kalpa recorded 5 mm snow last night. There are reports of mild snow fall from the Rohtang Pass while Chamba reported thunder showers.

The minismum temperature in Shimla plummetd to 10.7 degrees celsius while Bhuntar in Kullu district recorded 13.2 degrees and Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded 15.1 degrees. Kalpa was cold at 3.3 degrees.

Reports received from Dharmshala said that the Dhuladhar ranges had experience mild snowfall while rains lashed the Kangra valley.
