Police hits back, kills two ULFA

Guwahati, May 27 (UNI) Asom Police killed two hardcore ULFA cadres at Boragaon, on the outskirts of Guwahati late last night.

Police today said they spotted the militants at Boragaon near Lakhra and laid a trap killing the militants in a fierce encounter.

The deceased have not been identified yet but one is suspected to be from Nalbari district, police said, adding that two pistols, two grenades and some incriminating documents were found from them.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had yesterday asked DGP R N Mathur for a report mentioning why police have come under pressure for being unable to tackle militancy.

However, the Opposition parties have accused the political leadership for the total failure of law and order in the state.

'' What police will do if their political masters are hobnobbing with militants. Even ULFA is using mobile SIM cards issued in the address of the Congress state office. You have to be tough and show leadership'' BJP state president Ramen Deka stated.

The BJP and AGP have already called for 12-hour Guwahati bandh separately tomorrow.
