Kerala: CM accepts party decision wholeheartedly

Thiruvananthapuram, May 27: Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said he 'wholeheartedly'accepted the 'corrective step' taken by the CPI(M) leadership to suspend him along with State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan from the Polit Bureau for their public criticism in violation of party norms.

''It is natural that parents pull up children when they do something wrong. Similarly, I wholeheartedly accept the corrective step taken by the party,'' he told mediapersons here.

Stating that ups and downs were part of public life, Mr Achuthanandan said ''Lapses and mistakes are bound to happen when we do something good for society and the people.'' The polit Bureau decision to suspend the two veteran leaders from the highest policy-making body came yesterday after their public spat in violation of party norms.
