Kashmir court reserves order in fake encounter case
Srinagar, May 27 (UNI) A local court has reserved till June 5 its order on the fake encounter case of carpenter Abdur Rehman Padder of Kokernag in south Kashmir.
During hearing of the case, government counsels said even without the support of DNA findings, they have concrete evidence to prove Padder was murdered in ''cold blood'' by suspended Superintendent of Police Hansraj Parihar and his men for promotions and rewards.
''We have evidence against the accused which is sufficient to prove their guilt and establish beyond doubt that the person picked up from Batamaloo, taken to Sumbal and thereafter killed at Waskura in Ganderbal was none other than Padder,'' they added.
The counsels for the accused in their objections sought trial of the CRPF and the SOG personnel who took part in the encounter.
After hearing arguments from both the sides, District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Yaqoob Mir reserved his order till June 5.
