Patna, May 27 (UNI) Emergency services remained paralysed in medical college hospitals at Patna (PMCH) and Darbhanga (DMCH) for the second consecutive day today as consistent efforts to sort out the issues, yielded no result till late tonight.

Alleged unauthorised interference in hospital affairs by Ms Rekha Modi, cousin sister of deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and state home secretary Afzal Amanullah's wife Parveen, who were activists of an NGO invited the ire of junior doctors who launched wildcat strike at 1600 hrs on yesterday morning, said deputy superintendent of PMCH R K Singh.

All efforts to pursuade the junior doctors to call off the strike and restore emergency services at the hospital, proved futile as they were rigid on their demand for action against the persons interfering with the functioning of the hospital, he added.

Meanwhile, state health minister Chandra Mohan Rai prohibited the entry of both the NGO activists into the hospital premises without prior permission from proper authorities.

In Darbhanga, junior doctors of DMCH continued their strike which they had launched yesterrday morning demanding action against officials responsible for manhandling a senior surgeon when he was on way to the hospital.
