Isolated rains over Coastal Andhra

Hyderabad, May 27 (UNI) Isolated rain occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema while the weather was dry over Telangana.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were Anantapur 5, Guntur 3 and Chittoor 2.

The maximum temperatures rose at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little over Telangana and Rayalaseema.

They were significantly above normal at a few places over Telangana, at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and normal over Rayalaseema.

The maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded at Nandigama, Bhadrachalam and Hanamakonda.

In Vijayawada, 41.6 deg C was recorded. Weather was cool in the evening giving respite to the people from the scorching heat for the last few days.

Eluru, West Godavari district headquarters town recorded a temperature of 42.3 deg C while in Machilipatnam the mercury touched 37.5 deg C.
