Hartal in MP city against Reliance Fresh

Indore, May 27 (UNI) Business activity was partially affected in Madhya Pradesh's commercial capital today following the Malwa Mill Sabji Mandi Kherchi Vikreta Sangh's hartal call in protest against Reliance Fresh -- a Reliance Retail undertaking for sale of vegetables, fruits etc.

The Malwa Mill Vegetables Market, Tilak Nagar Market and other small markets were closed even as handcarts were off the roads and kiosks were shut.

''The Choithram main market functioned as usual,'' said Mandi Secretary Nilay Satbhaiyya. The Sangh demanded scrapping of Reliance's license. The agitators organised a meeting at Malwa Mill and protested against granting permission to major companies to enter the retail sector.
