Govt proposes 'Weekend Gateways' for tourists

Lucknow, May 27 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department will soon introduce 'Weekend Gateways' tour for national and international tourists.

Director General (Tourism) Parthsarthi Sen Sharma said today that the tour package, a brain child of travel wing 'U P Tours', was proposed with a view to provide better services to tourists coming from all over the world to Lucknow.

The tourist destination would not be limited to the capital city alone. The tourists would also be taken to nearby places. Under the proposed package, tourists would be taken in AC cars from their homes or hotels for 'Ayodhya Darshan', which would include a trip to nearby Faizabad.

Mr Sen Sharma said efforts were on to launch the scheme at the earliest.

Special programmes to lure children and adults alike are being incorporated in the package.
