Flying squad to check child labour in Bihar
Patna, May 27 (UNI) Taking serious note of spurt in cases related to violation of the child labour act, the Bihar government has decided to constitute flying squads to nab the offenders.
State labour commissioner Vimlanand Jha said a decision to this effect was taken as the reports of employing children in household and various small factories continued to pour in even after the enforcement of the act prohibiting this practice.
'' Public notice had been issued to warn those found recruiting child labourers in violation of the act'' he said adding the government would take stringent action against the offenders.
Violation of the child labour act attracts a fine of Rs 20,000 and one year jail term.
