Firing claims one

Ferozabad, May 27 (UNI) An elerly man was killed and a woman was critically wounded in a firing incident in Nagla Khangar area here.

Police today said Ramnivas Yadav, who was recently released from jail, had an altercation with Satyanarayan and few others of Jamalipur village over power pilferage yesterday.

Yadav started firing indiscriminately and thereafter, was arrested for creating terror among the villagers.

Irked over the arrest of Yadav, his associates had an exchange of firing with the villagers. The firing which lasted for half-an-hour claimed the life of an elderly person and also injured a woman.

Police in strength had been deployed in the area to avoid any fresh violence.
