Fashion show at NIIFT tomorrow

Chandigarh, May 27 (UNI) The graduating students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali are getting together to rock the ramp with their collections at their annual design collection show 'Anukama 2007'.

The show which would be held tomorrow at Kalagram, Chandigarh would have the minister of Industries and Commerce, Manoranjan Kalia as the chief guest.

''Anukama 2007' is a fashion kaleidoscope for thriving designers to splash their creating hues on the canvas of couture. It is a show where diligence and thorough training comes together and lets the students perform their best in their creative freedom.

Giving details here today Sanjay Kumar, Director General, NIIFT and Director Industries and Commerce said that each student of fashion Design and the Knitwear Design and Technology department individually works on a theme and presents five to seven ensembles related to that theme.

This year 'Anukama 2007' would showcase 39 collections by graduating students of Fashion Design and Knitwear Design and Technology. To present the designs leading models from Delhi and Mumbai shall adorn the show, adding more jazz to the affair.

The co-sponsorers for the show are Fashion Technology Park promoted by Chandigarh Overseas Private Limited, Abhishek Industries, Trident Group and HUTCH.

Kaushik Ghosh would be the choreopgrapher for the show. The team of well known female models who would descend upon the city are Tina Chatwal, Lakshmi Rana, Amanpreet Wahi, Joey Mathew, Jayshree Tahiliani, Binita, Himani Thapar to name a few. The male models would be Manoj Chandila and Anuj Rajpur and Vinay Sharma.
