Depot to open outlets smaller cities
Ahmedabad, May 27 (UNI) Depot, the books, music, gifts and stationery retail format of Pantaloon Retail (India) today unveiled growth plans that envisages foray into smaller cities.
Depot Business Head Preeti Vyas while opening a new outlet here said, ''In less than a year, Depot has increased its retail presence from three stores to 57 across the country.'' She said there is a significant untapped potential in smaller cities in the country and Gujarat has been chosen as the first state to foray into smaller cities. Consumers in cities like Anand, Bhavnagar, Vapi and Jamnagar in the state will soon have such outlets.
Depot stores are characterised by an informal display of products which include books across various subjects, music CDs and cassettes spanning all genres, home video and multimedia at affordablle prices.
Currently it has three outlets in Ahmedabad, two each in Baroda and Surat and one in Rajkot.
