Couples should register marriage

Akola May 27 (UNI) The registration of marriage has reduced due to the mass marriage ceremonies organised here, according to marriage registration office sources.

In the current marriage season, only 204 marriages have been registered till date at the district sub registrar office, despite the fact that hundreds of couples were married during a mass marriage ceremony.

According to the sub registrar, Ashok Gedam, the awareness of the advantages of registering marriage is lacking, as even the educated people had failed to register marriages.

The organisers of the mass marriage ceremonies have been notified, and the registrar has appealed to newly wedded unregistered couples to register to make their marriage legal on records.
