Counterfeit currency worth Rs 5.4 lakh seized, three arrested
New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) The Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a racket pumping counterfeit currency into the market and arrested three people, including a women, in the connection.
The fake notes, worth Rs 5.4 lakh, were all in denomination of Rs 500.
The trio was on their way to Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, having picked up the consignment from Mumbai.
The accused were arrested as soon as their train touched the railway station here.
They have been identified as Ashghar Ali, Vakil Ahmad and Meena Begham.
The police acting on a tip off, recieved yesterday, developed the leads and laid a trap to apprehend the trio.
