Cooperative banks emerging from loss: Minister
Guna, MP, May 27 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Minister Gopal Bhargava today said a target had been sent to make all cooperative banks profit making by 2007.
Mr Bhargava told a press conference here today that the number of profit-making cooperative banks had increased from 12 during the previous Congress regime to 27 profit-making banks at present.
He said the condition of these banks had deteriorated due to irregularities, scams and poor work culture. The present government started reforms in this sector and situation had improved.
Regarding erstwhile Congress candidate being given ticket from the BJP for assembly by-election in Shivpuri constituency, he said the decision was of the party high command.
After the press conference, Mr Bhargav left for poll campaigning in Shivpuri.
