Amarinder to be question by Vigilance Bureau tomorrow
Patiala, May 27 (UNI) The district administration has made tight security arrangements around the Circuit House here, where former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will be questioned tomorrow by the state Vigilance Bureau about his alleged role in the multi crore Ludhiana City Centre scam.
Additional police personnel have been deployed at the Baradari Gardens where the Circuit House is located amidst reports that Congress workers are planning to gather outside the venue to protest against the implication of Capt Singh in the case registered in March at Ludhiana.
Capt Singh along with his former ministerial colleague Choudhary Jagjit Singh and 16 others have been named in the case. Five persons have been arrested including a Delhi based businessman from whom the Vigilance Bureau had recovered sensitive data that pointed to the alleged involvement of Capt Singh and his family members in the scam.
Patiala range DIG Paramjit Singh Gill today held a meeting of police officials to review the police arrangements in the city.
SSP SK Asthana when contacted said that no one will be allowed to disturb peace in the city. He said that section 144 had already been imposed in the city.
The Vigilance Bureau had prepared a list of 56 questions for the former Chief Minister, who arrived here last Friday after spending a few days in Nepal. Capt Singh had already held discussions with his advocates on the line of action to be adopted before the Vigilance Bureau.
