1 killed, 2 hurt in inter-factional clashes.
Kohima May 27 (UNI) At least one NSCN-IM cadre was killed and three others, including two civilians, were injured in two clashes between rival factions of NSCN yesterday.
Official sources said the inter-factional clashes between NSCN-IM and NSCN(K) occurred at Athibung under Nagaland's Peren district injuring two civilians.
However, casualty on either side of the warring factions was not known.
In another incident, the NSCN (K) cadres ambushed a camp of their rival faction in the Burma camp area at Dimapur last night killing one of their cadres and injuring another.
The deceased bore three bullet wounds on his body, while the injured cadre received a bullet on his chest and was admitted to a private nursing home at Dimapur.
Meanwhile, the three-day stand-off between the rival factions of NSCN in the para-medical colony of this capital town was cased last night when the NSCN-IM cadres withdrew their cadres on the request of the local public and Angami Public Organisation (APO).
The NSCN-IM cadres also said they would come back if the rival faction does not vacate the area immediately.
The APO appealed all the groups to exercise utmost restraint and withdraw their respective cadres from civilian populated areas.
