SII launches first IQ qualification for IT
Mumbai, May 25: To develop practical and relevent qualification among IT practitioners working in the financial services sector, Securities and Investment Institute (SII) here today launched world's first IQ qualification award.
The qualification award - 'IT in Investment Operations (ITIO)' was launched in India by Lord Mayor of the city of London Alderman John Stuttard and Richard Stockdale, President of SSI's Regional commitee in India and CEO of Lloyds TSB Global Services Private.
Speaking at the launch, SII MD Ruth Martin said, ''It is the first time that SII has launched a new global qualification outside the UK. The ITIO aims to explain issues that IT staff may expect to face in their day-to-day activities and will become the benchmark qualification for the IT staff working in, or hoping to move into the global financial services sector.'' ITIO award can be taken as a stand-alone qualification or as the SII's broader Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ) and will be offered globally by computer-based testing (CBT) from September this year. SII will be working with local training providers in India to develop such qualification among IT practitioners, added Martin.
