Nepal establishes diplomatic relations with Haiti

Kathmandu, May 25: Diplomatic relations between Nepal and the Republic of Haiti have been established.

Permanent Representative of Nepal to United Nations, Ambassador Madhuraman Acharya, and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Haiti to the United Nations, Ambassador Leo Merores, signed a joint communique to this effect at the Permanent Mission of Nepal in New York yesterday.

''With the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries aim at promoting and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, commercial and cultural fields'', Foreign Ministry said.

With Haiti, the number of countries with which Nepal has diplomatic relations has reached 126.
