Govt Official caught while accepting bribe

Bangalore, May 25 (UNI) A senior official of the Women and Children Development Department was caught red hand by Lok Ayukta officials while accepting bribe for showing an official favour.

According to a Lok Ayukta release the official, identified as Devaraja, was caught while accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe from a city-based weighing machines supplier.

The supplier said in his complaint to Lok Ayukta that he had earlier paid Rs 20,000 bribe, as demanded by the official, but he had insisted for Rs 10,000 more, threatening that if the money was not paid he would reject the weighing machines ment to be distributed to Anganawadi Centers.
