DDA gets ISO 9001 certificate

New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) The Delhi Development Authority has bagged the ISO 9001:2000 certification, for meeting standards of quality management.

The license will be operative from March 29, 2010 and renewable subject to the BIS Act.

The DDA in a statement said it had set up a Quality Control Cell to oversee not only the quality of materials and workmanship but also the quality of planning, designing contract documents, and specifications and issues necessary guidelines and circulars.

To ensure use of standard quality of materials, it carried out inspections and testing of samples at sites and in its laboratory.

This cell directly reports to the Vice-Chairman and is independent of Engineering Wing.

Inspections are carried out by this Cell randomly and without any prior information.

DDA Quality testing labs also work under the Cell.

The DDA has also introduced the system of third party assurance which is done by reputed institutions like IIT, CRRI etc, the statement said.
