Singapore: Sunway to constuct highway in India

Singapore, May 24: Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd (SunCon) has said its joint venture with Soma Enterprise Ltd has won a Rs 32.94 crore contract to build a four-lane highway connecting ICTT in Kerala.

Awarded by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), SunCon has 50 per cent stake in the Sun-Con Soma joint venture with Soma Enterprise Ltd of India.

The project at Vallarpadam, Cochin would take about 30 months to complete, said SunCon's parent group Sunway Holdings Inc Bhd in a statement to Bursa Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

Sunway expects the project to contribute to its group level earnings in 2008.
