Solid Waste Management Plant for Fatehabad

Chandigarh, May 24 (UNI) The Haryana government is setting up a Solid Waste Management Plant at Fatehabad at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore which will process over twelve tonnes of waste per day to make the city neat and clean.

Stating this, an official spokesman said that the State Government was taking several steps for solid waste management so that the entire state could be made waste free.

The setting up of this plant would not only ensure the cleanliness of the city but would also make it disease free, he added.

He said the waste processed in this plant would be converted into organic manure which would be made available to the farmers at low prices.

It was also proposed to generate power from the plant which would provide better lighting system in the city. Plastics, bio medical and household waste would be processed in this plant.

Modern equipment was being installed in the plant for the solid waste management.

He said that the plant, being set up over an area of four and a half acres, would provide large scale employment to the people of the district.
