Sandalwood recovered from Kajidaha

Basirhat, May 24 (UNI) Police today recovered at least 100 pieces of sandalwood logs from a mango garden at Kajidaha village under Swarupnagar police station under North 24 Parganas.

A senior police officer said following a tip off, a police team raided the garden and recovered the logs worth Rs 25 lakh.

The logs were later handed over to the Forest Department officials here, he said.

Incidentally, a substantial quantity of sandalwood was recovered from Siliguri a couple of days ago.

Police said no one was arrested in this connection. Investigation was on.
