Railway engineer refuses bail in bribery case
Patna, May 24 (UNI) The special CBI judge of Patna R S Rai today rejected the regular bail petition of Anil Kumar, a senior Deputy Engineer of East Central Railway in a bribery case.
According to the charges, Mr Kumar was arrested by CBI sleuths on May 15 while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh from the proprietor of a travel agency near the DRM office, Danapur.
He was sent to judicial custody the next day.
The bribe, allegedly demanded by Mr Ugrasen, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer of ECR for clearing a tender of the travel agency. Mr Kumar was receiving the bribe on behalf of Mr Sen.
