Guwahati, May 24 (UNI) Seeking stern action against the Nationalist Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), former cadres of the disbanded Bodoland Liberation Tigers (BLT) have urged the Centre to quash the ceasefire between the government and the militant outfit.

President of the Ex-BLT Welfare Society Jana Mohan Mushahary said in a memorandum to the chief minister, ''Taking advantage of the normality under ceasefire, the NDFB has not only regrouped, reorganised and reinforced themselves with new recruitment of young and educated Bodo youths, but also spread its bases by setting up new camps at different places where they never dared to tread.'' Protesting the 'serial killings' of former BLT cadres reportedly by the NDFB, the society has also called a 100-hour road-cum-rail blockade from today.

''With the advantage of free run under the ceasefire, the NDFB cadres started to move with arms, carrying on extortion drives and even eliminate security personnel, including civilians at will, threatening the sovereign fabric of the country,'' Mushahary stated in the memorandum, which was signed by leaders of different Bodo organisations, including Bodoland Territorial Council chief Hagrama Mohilary.

Warning that the accumulating anger of the people may erupt any anytime, the Ex BLT body alleged that new recruits of the NDFB were reportedly undergoing training in Bangladesh.

The society said giving a free run to the NDFB will push the region to confusion, endangering the integrity of the society.

Citing instances of recent killings of Ex BLT members and civilians by suspected cadres of the NDFB, the erstwhile BLT cadres demanded that the ceasefire agreement with the outfit be quashed, and immediate stern action initiated against the outfit.
