Mercury drops to 34.3 Deg C
Chennai, May 24 (UNI) Southerly winds continued to provide Chennaites relief from scorching heat with mercury dropping to 34.3 degree Celsius here today.
According to MET officials the early set of sea breeze plummeted, about 40 degree C yesterday to 34.3 degree C.
The minimum temperature also dropped to 28.4 degree C, two degrees from yesterday morning.
The cooler weather is likely to persist for the next two days with the weathermen forecasting more rain and thundershowers, accompanied by squalls in Chennai city and the suburbs, during the next 48 hours.
The MET office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in the city during the next 24 hours with the likelihood of rain or thundershowers accompanied by squalls in some areas.
It also forecast a maximum temperature of 35 degree C tomorrow.
