Jordin Sparks becomes youngest "Idol" winner

LOS ANGELES, May 24 (Reuters) Seventeen-year-old diva Jordin Sparks won the 2007 ''American Idol'' television contest beating her older, more offbeat male rival Blake Lewis to become the youngest ever winner of the coveted title.

Sparks captured the hearts of viewers of the US's most popular TV show with her bubbly personality, broad smile and big voice.

The Glendale, Arizona, native started singing at 18 months and auditioned for ''American Idol'' as soon as she could after becoming eligible at the age of 16.
