Guj CM warns politicians on Junagadh incident

Porbandar, May 24 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today warned politicians not to misguide people over the Junagadh incident in which a girl was murdered and another raped by two accused at Datar shrine on May 13.

Addressing a Mahila Sammelan here, the Chief Minister asserted that the accused would soon be nabbed by police.

''The government is committed to give severe punishment to the culprits'', he said.

The incident at Junagadh was very unfortunate and ''painful.''Special Task force had been pressed into service to nab the main culprits, who were involved in the ghastly incident, the Chief Minister added.

He said if Congressmen have any information regarding the accused, they should inform the government, instead of staging agitations and Bandh.

The accused have managed to hide and avoid their arrests, as the police concentration have been diverted towards maintaining law and order, he said.
