Four suspended in illegal mining case

Hoshangabad, MP, May 24 (UNI) Four government officials have been suspended by the district administration in connection with illegal mining of sand from the banks of Narmada river.

Collector Faiz Ahmed suspended Assistant Mining Officer N S Sharma, Mining Inspector O P Baghel, Incharge Mining Inspector N S Mehra and accountant Vinod Chouhan.

He also directed guilty contractors Manjeet Singh Rajput and Narayandas Phoolchand Mishra to pay a fine of Rs 2.14 crore.
