MP: Four suspended in illegal mining case

Hoshangabad, MP, May 24: Four government officials have been suspended by the district administration in connection with illegal mining of sand from the banks of Narmada river.

Collector Faiz Ahmed suspended Assistant Mining Officer N S Sharma, Mining Inspector O P Baghel, Incharge Mining Inspector N S Mehra and accountant Vinod Chouhan.

He also directed guilty contractors Manjeet Singh Rajput and Narayandas Phoolchand Mishra to pay a fine of Rs 2.14 crore.
