Five soldiers killed in SE Turkey landmine blast
TUNCELI, Turkey, May 24 (Reuters) Five Turkish soldiers were killed and another five were wounded in a landmine explosion in southeast Turkey today, army sources said.
The landmine was detonated by remote control in Sirnak province near the Iraqi border, the sources said.
The blast follows the worst bomb attack in Ankara in at least a decade. The authorities had said the blast appeared to be the work of the separatist rebels of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) but the group denied it was responsible.
