Extortion charges framed against JD(U) MLA

Aurangabad, May 24 (UNI) A local court today framed charges against suspended JD(U) MLA Narendra Kumar alias Sunil Pandey in connection with a case relating to extortion calls.

District first class Judicial Magistrate R Mishra prima facie found Pandey guilty of making extortion calls to a local electronic company owner.

According to the charges, Mr Pandey had been threatening the owner of Vijay electronics asking him to pay huge sums or face ''dire consequences''.

The court has fixed June 7 as the date of the next hearing.
