Death toll in Russia's mine blast rises to 38: Official

Moscow, May 24 (UNI) The death toll in the methane gas explosion today at the Yubileinaya mine in the Siberian Kemerovo region has risen to 38.

''The latest information available to us indicates that 38 people died as a result of the methane gas blast at the mine,'' Interfax news agency reported quoting spokesperson of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry Natalia Lukash.

Mr Lukash said 7 miners were injured in the blast.
