Damdami Taksal calls for Assembly session on Dera issue
Jalandhar, May 24 (UNI) The Damdami Taksal today appealed to the Punjab government to call an Assembly session to take a decision on the arrest of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh for his alleged anti-Sikh activities.
Talking to mediapersons here, Taksal spokesperson Mohkam Singh said,''We appeal to the Badal government to convene an assembly session immediately and pass a Bill for the early arrest of the Dera chief.'' ''The Akali MLAs had won with the votes of the Sikhs and the session would be a test for them, whether they are with us or with the Dera,'' he said.
On the issue if Dera chief tenders an unconditional apology, he claimed that certain people in the name of apology were trying to save the Dera head. ''Now apology will not do, we demand his arrest,''he added.
